About this tool
This discount calculator takes a Price field and a Discount % field. On Calculate it multiplies price by percent divided by 100 for the savings, then subtracts that from the original price. Non-numeric values return an error instead of a fake total.
How to use
- Open the calculator: Load this page so the Price and Discount % fields and Calculate button appear.
- Enter the original price: Type the full price before the discount (sample default is 100).
- Enter the discount percent: Type the percent off, such as 20 for twenty percent (sample default is 20).
- Calculate and read results: Click Calculate to see You save and Final price, each rounded to two decimals.
Common use cases
- Check sale math before you checkout so the final price matches the advertised percent off.
- Convert a catalog price and a coupon percent into savings and a payable amount.
- Explain a markdown to a customer by showing savings and final price side by side.
Tips
- Use digits only for price and percent; invalid numbers show Enter valid numbers.
- Savings equal price times percent divided by 100; final price is original minus savings.
